Popup XP has been discontinued.
When it comes to blocking popups and other forms of Internet annoyances Popup XP is a decent option. Popup XP logs popups it blocks, cookies it deletes, web addresses it cleans and more.
To get full use of the program, however, you need to purchase the professional edition for $49.99. That's $20 more than our #1-ranked product.
Like our other top-ranked products, Popup XP is easy and simple to use. You can double-click the program's icon on the taskbar or you can access Popup XP's settings while browsing the Internet and right-clicking an object. Popup XP also allows you to surf the Internet in "silent mode"; popups are still blocked, but the program doesn't notify you about them.
Popup XP has some great features for detecting and blocking popups and popunders. However, to get full use of Pop XP's tools you have to purchase their professional version. The professional version's features are very similar to our #1-ranked program.
We experienced no difficulties installing Popup XP.
Popup XP includes good help and documentation, though finding it can be a hassle. Unlike most programs you can't just click a button and read the help documents; you have to access the help documentation from Bay FX's website.
Popup XP protects your homepage from being hijacked and also protects your privacy with some of the best cleaning tools available. If you purchase the professional version, you'll also be able to schedule cleanings for your system.
Popup XP does a good job at killing most popups and popunders; it passed some tests with flying colors. Where it seemed to struggle somewhat was with floating popups and banners, drop-down popups and sticky popups.
We really liked the tools and ease-of-use of Popup XP, but we felt you can get more for your money with our top-ranked Pop-Up Blocker program.
